The town of Rumford is built around the lumber mill. If the mill closed, the town would probably shut down. It is not a pretty sight, but an economic necessity for the survival of this town. Fortunately, we live far enough away, we don't get the smell. The Mexico side of the river gets it worse than the Rumford side.

I think it's amazing that one thing can make or break a town! That's crazy! What a chapel. It makes me grateful for ours even though we have 4 wards meeting in it - and only one chair for nursing moms! at least it's not one room!!
