Visit From Kathy and Mike

We enjoyed a visit from Kathy and Mike last week and it was a nice break to put our missionary responsibilities on the back burner for three days. We were able to experience one beautiful Fall day together and took advantage of it by going down to the coast to Freeport. The leaves were still colorful, so they did not miss out completely on Maine's splendor. The next two days, however, were not so nice. It rained all day the second day and on their last day with us, we actually got a few snow flakes and some cold temperatures. Of course, as soon as they left, it warmed right back up..... In spite of the not so great weather, we had a good visit and it was kind of hard to say goodbye.

More Pictures of Fall in Maine

We have had a spectacular four weeks of Fall and I hate to see it come to an end, but the leaves are quickly falling and the temperatures are dipping. It is about time to face the fact that winter is on its way. We now have to be very careful on the roads what with all those wet leaves gathering along roadsides and of course, wandering moose.

Catching up with the Daines

A couple of weeks ago we had the opportunity of going to the Boston Temple. It was a great get-away for us. We enjoyed our sessions in the Temple, our scenic drive down and back and especially enjoyed visiting with our nephew Greg and his cute family, who so graciously put us up for the night. We took a little side trip on our way home and stopped over in Rockland, Mass. and enjoyed this charming little fishing village. Like all coastal cities, it offers some great kodak moments. This past week for "P" day we joined some other senior missionaries and took a trip down to Belfast on the coast of Maine. These little side trips help rejuvinate us for when we have to return to our most important task at hand, missionary work!
